CAP fest ideas

So John came to that meeting a while back and asked if we wanted to be part of CAP fest. Max and I were talking and thought it would be cool to do a puppet show about the city and why its an awesome place to make art and do cool DIY things. Does anyone have any ideas on this or for anything else we might want to do. They're real open about stuff and John said that we could even request some small funding if we needed it. We should totally go wild. Post ideas if you've got 'em!

(shameless plug for personal project)
Also, THIS IS PUNK is taking submissions of all things punk. Its a print zine that we're releasing at the same time as the online Maegazine. We're trying to do a release show for it and so THIS IS PUNK will be given out at the Maegazine release show. If you've got anything punk you want to submit or want to make something punk, we're gonna need stuff and would really appreciate it.

uhm i like the puppet show a whole bunch.

i definitely want a hang in some of the writing or scripting at least. i dont know why its good to be in baltimore but i really wanna make an insane puppet remake of a wham city show or something bigger and better and not just mica baltimore but baltimore baltimore!

the deal is that it's not going to be satirical at all though

i'm not really feeling this whole wham city/baltimore is awesome puppet show. I like the idea of doing a puppet show, but i just feel like we're not really a part of that whole thing. I mean we go to some of their shows and are sort of involved in charm city, but i dunno i'd rather make a puppet show that is just a weird puppet show. I think that would be more fun, and i just don't know if alot of the people coming to this cap fest really care to know about wham city shit. I dunno, i'll participate if everyone is vibing on this idea but i think we could do something better and more challenging and interesting.

the idea has developed more since carey and i discussed it, we ought to have a meeting tomorrow night talking about it.

yeah i guess come to think of it wham city isnt probably the way we wanna go. it was just a suggestion.

lets not rule anything out, but i think we should take into consideration as many of the venues and people possible who have made us feel welcome in this city

wham city is 21 and up ruling out us being/feeling welcome in their situation.

i think neil was just using that as more of an example, i think the way carey and i explain the developments of the idea will make it more appealing

yea i hate wham city as much as the next psychic friends, i just remember the initial excitement of going to like an ocdj show or something. it wasnt specific to wham city it was just the first example i could think of.

i would love to do a puppet show. i also think that we can design it in a certain way to be able make it relevant to the CAP thing and use it again for whatever we may want to do. we should talk about splitting up the responsibilities at the meeting, i.e. writing the script, making the set, and making the puppets. that would be a really productive way, i think.

hahahaha neil your statements are always so extreme! i think that we might be using the puppet theater that i am building for sculpture, but i am building it so that the set is as modifiable as possible.
