Experiments in Collaboration Statement

Psychic Friends is a collective founded in Baltimore, Maryland in 2007.

Experiments in Collaboration explores the collective’s identity, as a physical being and the collective consciousness. Through a series of group drawings and assemblages the collective aims to create a unified aesthetic, making coherent and unique images and becoming comfortable with occupying each other’s drawing space. Photos on display were taken during a 24-hour “orgy” (here being defined as excessive indulgence in something especially to satisfy an inordinate appetite or craving) in which all members of the collective were made interact with each other for a full day. The purpose of this exercise was to understand the physical limitations and strengths of the collective and to become better acquainted with individual members.

Who are we? What are we about? Why are we all together? How can we unite and create great, innovative works? Through this exhibit the collective aims to come even closer to answering this question, by taking a step back and looking at what has been done so far. The collective invites you into their circle for a moment to help in this process.

In which all members of the collective were made TO interact with each other for a full day.

Also maybe the definition of orgy as a footnote at the bottom.

Otherwise, it looks fantastic! covers everything, really fantastic!
