Zine Tutorial

I made a short zine tutorial for anyone who might be having trouble with the technical aspects of laying out zines. Hope it helps! if anyone has any questions or needs help, let me know and I'd be happy to explain.

I hope everyone is having a nice winter break/christmas eve/other holiday celebration and I also hope that people have been gathering their ideas for zines/other projects.
I'm gonna arrange the lists like a checklist, we agreed to put the ideas in abc order. I'll do my best to do that.
if you can email me the lists by new years or so, I'd appreciate it. my email is sir.emilyawesome@gmail.com and you can either attach it as a word document or put the text in an email. if you don't have exactly 50, that's ok, just try to get as many ideas as possible recorded.
how do you feel about having space in the back for us to write in ideas as we come up with them?

once I get all the lists, I'll start to lay out ideas and I'll post them here for feedback.

Haircut Zine: Printed and Cut

100 copies of the haircut zine printed and cut tonight. All we need now is covers and dimebags. Also, Looks like we're gonna have to sew this one again... Margo and Rachel, do you think you'll have some time between now and the 3rd to help out?

A Proposal

I think that in the spirit of having fun and exploring the collective identity we should experiment with changing our physical identity as well. We are a large group of people and will enable us to play around with a lot of things. Keeping the initials P.F. in every incarnation and switching around the name for different projects is one idea that was inspired by AVAF another large collective based in Brazil.

To get this idea of playing with our identity started, I propose we turn ourselves into a huge old school style rap posse. I have posted various rap videos as examples and further ideas will be developed for this project, but the main ideas I've had for this project are making a video and a hip hop themed zine, compiled of photos of us dressed in golden age hip hop style. Baltimore is the perfect backdrop for a video like this with tons of abandoned buildings and lots. I hope you enjoy these videos!

Zine as PDF???

So I'm not sure if we've talked about this yet, but how does everyone feel about posting the zine on this blog as a PDF for download? That way, internet friends, internet family and people who we can't get them to can see it. Also we might even run out (hopefully?) and that way people who missed out on print copies can see it as well. I think that everyone is proud of this thing and why wouldn't we want as many people to see it as possible?
